Are You Wearing the Correct Bra Size?

You walk into your home and the first thing you do is rip off your bra. You’ve spent the whole day tugging and rearranging your bra. This is a dead giveaway that you are wearing the wrong bra size.

A bra is supposed to help your “girls” feel supported while making them look good, but if you aren’t wearing the right bra, then it can be quite unflattering.

A 2008 study-Breast size, bra fit and thoracic pain in young women: a correlational study-published by Cameron and Fitzgerald Wood stated 80% of women wear the wrong bra size and about 70% of women wear a bra that is too small.

These are not suprising statistics because majority of women have never gotten a bra fitting before. This means that a lot of women have just played the guessing game when it came down to selecting the correct bra. This is the reason for a lot of the discomfort you might feel wearing a bra and why a lot of women feel such a relief when removing their bra.

Thankfully bra fittings are free and take less than two minutes to complete. It is best to get your bra fitted at an intimates store where they specialize in women’s lingerie. That way, you can try on various bras to make sure that you leave with the perfect bra for you.

Another option is to follow an instructional video online where they guide you through the simple process of figuring out your correct bra size.

Once you have done your at home measurements, it is still a good option to confirm those measurements and get an actual bra fitting done.

An obvious sign that you are wearing the wrong bra size is if your breasts are spilling out of the top of the bra or there is a lot of space left between your actual breast and the cup.

Are you a woman who experiences a lot of breast sweat? That is a dead giveaway that the cup size you are wearing is too big. The cup should fit comfortably underneath your breast and should actually add to the shape of your breast.

If your breast doesn’t rest against the bottom of the cup, then you probably need to look into getting a bra with a smaller cup size. If you are wearing a bra with a cup size that is too small, then your breasts will spill over causing unflattering cleavage.

Your boobs should also never be kissing. Each cup should support each boob fully and should never push the boobs together. The perfect bra will fit perfectly around your breast and cover the entire breast causing a nice separation and eliminating boob sweat. It should serve to compliment the breast.

The band of the bra should never be too tight. It also should never be too loose. You have to find the right medium.

A few signs that the band is too small is if the cup of the bra is literally slicing into your skin. If you look at the back of your bra and notice that you skin is spilling over the bra, then you need a bigger band size. The right band size will smooth you out and hide any bumps.

Another sign is if the cup of your bra is sitting above the bottom of your breast. This only means that you need to get a smaller band size.

A bra should not feel uncomfortable and the right bra should be so comfortable that you don’t even know it’s there. If you are experiencing any discomfort, then you are wearing the wrong bra and you should look into getting a bra fitting.
