We all get a sweet tooth every now and then and nothing beats a sweet tooth like a delicious doughnut or a soft and fluffy piece of cake. With Orlando being the fourth largest city in Florida, there are so many cool places to eat in the city which means many desserts to try. While I can’t compete with any food bloggers out there, I do consider myself a glorified foodie because I have eaten at so many restaurants in Orlando and quite a few new restaurants. So, I have listed my absolute favorite dessert spots in Orlando that are sure to knock your socks off.
THE BEST DESSERT SPOTS IN ORLANDO
SUGAR DIVAS CAKERY
It’s as if they wait right in front of the oven to take the cupcakes out as soon as the timer beeps. Sugar Divas has the softest cupcakes I have ever tasted in my life and it genuinely surprises me that more people don’t know about this place. My favorite cupcake is the “Champagne and Berries” cupcake which has a berry filling on the inside. They also do crazy, cool cakes with all different types of designs.
Who doesn’t love doughnuts? Donut King is definitely itching towards that number one doughnut shop in Orlando. Not only are the doughnuts stupid cheap, but they are so tasty. They have cool flavors such as the fruity pebbles and the cookie monster.
KELLY’S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM
This ice cream shop is one of my favorites. They have awesome flavors that excite your pallet and leave you wanting more. My favorite happens to be the “Mexican chocolate” which is crazy because I love vanilla ice cream and I never eat chocolate ice cream, so that should tell you something.
BETTER THAN SEX
I went to this restaurant on my birthday and I’m glad I did. The desserts are so creative and different. I had the “Blueberry Birthday Suit” and the moscato with a white chocolate drip over the rim and strawberry sprinkles. With every sip of moscato, I tasted the white chocolate and it was a great combination. I would recommend booking in advance because this dessert restaurant is always booked and sometimes weeks in advance. There is also limited seating.
CHOCOLATE MUSEUM AND CAFE
I came upon this place when I was perusing through Groupon for some hot deals. The groupon was for a tour of the chocolate museum, a cup of hot cocoa, and a mug. The tour gave us a bit of history of chocolate and we got to see a room full of chocolate objects. At the end of the tour we got to try different chocolates from around the world. After that we got a nice cup of hot cocoa, but this wan’t any kind of basic hot cocoa. This tasted like a someone had melted an actual chocolate bar into my cup. Let’s just say, I was in heaven.
After the tour and my amazing cup of cocoa, my friend and I got an assortment of chocolates. They had unique flavors, but my favorite was Strawberry and least favorite was basil. Regardless, it was a cool experience and fun trying different flavors of chocolate and learning some history.
