I Bought A Film Camera

First let me start off by saying this will be the first purchase of many. Lately, I have been interested in taking it back to the basics. Film cameras are becoming quite popular again and I can see why. There is this unfiltered realness that comes with shooting in film. The pictures are beautiful as is and that is what makes them so special. As someone who has quite a bit of experience with dslr cameras, I was taught to shoot in raw, so I can edit my photos to my liking.

With film cameras, the raw, unedited photos are what makes shooting in film such a beautiful experience. Yes, you can still edit them in some way, but why? I think film photos have a certain personality to them which makes shooting in film a pretty unique experience.

CANON EOS REBEL Ti

I got the Canon Eos Rebel Ti and it was used. I mainly got this camera because it is more similar to a dslr. Digital film cameras have many similarities to a dslr which means they are pretty easy to learn how to use for someone like me. I am excited to see how the pictures come out once they are developed. I purchased a couple cases of film in color, but I also want to purchase one in black and white. I also can’t wait to show you all how the pictures come out.

HOW FILM CAMERAS WORK

So there are two different types of film cameras. You have manual and digital. Digital film cameras are for those who have experience with dslr cameras. Manual film cameras are a little bit more challenging and are for the more experienced film photographers. I do hope to get into that one day, but for now I’ll shoot with digital.
