I have always wanted to be a plant mom, but I always got overwhelmed by the many plant options out there. I never knew where to start or what plants would be easier to manage as a beginner. While I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, I stumbled upon these succulents that were being sold for $2.99. They were so cute and I heard they were pretty easy to take care of, so I decided to pick up a few. I also picked up a bromeliad plant that was $5.99.
SUCCULENTS
I heard succulents are some of the easiest plants to care for as a beginner, so I went with those. They are pretty low maintenance and supposedly pretty easy to care for.
They only have to be watered occasionally and they thrive in the sun. I watched quite a few YouTube videos just to make sure that I didn’t kill the plants within my first week of having them. I am already in love with my new plant babies and I can’t wait to see them thrive.
BROMELIAD
The final plant baby is a Bromeliad. This is another low maintenance plant and over time, it grows to be a colorful plant that reminds you of the tropics.
I got this plant because it’s such a beautiful plant when it is in full bloom and it will add a pop of color to my room. The watering method for this particular plant is quite interesting since I have to even water the leaves and dump out the excess water.
I am still learning the ropes when it comes to plants, but I am excited to see them thrive over time. If I succeed at keeping these babies alive, then I will move onto bigger plants.
I started with a peace lily and it died on me, did some research and got another one. Now we are two years strong! 😍
Aww, I’ve been there. I hope to be like you one day. 😩🙌🏾
