My name is Desiree and I was born in Brooklyn, New York. While my mom moved me away at the age of two, I find it ironic how I was born in a city with so much life and culture because that is exactly how I would describe myself.
From 2011-2014 I went to Florida Gulf Coast University where I majored in Journalism. I loved Journalism because I could write about anything that fascinated me and I got to interact and interview different people from all walks of life. It was a blast and I surely let my creative flag fly. I realized from that point on that I wanted to write. I did try creating my first blog at the time, but it was a fail. I felt like I put this unnecessary pressure on myself to write perfectly and I was trying to be like everyone else and write about similar topics that other people were writing about, but that didn’t interest me the least bit.
I realized that nothing I write would be my best work, unless I was true to myself. I wanted to write about things that were of interest to women and in some way inspired them. My last blog, momentswithdes.com, was a great starting point and I felt like I finally found my voice, but this blog is going to delve deeper into various topics. It will include interviews and articles on popular topics that include women today.
I will also be sharing bits and pieces of my personal life, so you can get to know me a little better. I am so happy you decided to visit my beautiful, creative space and I hope you enjoy.
